First Answer
the first part is an energy calculation  ___  kinetic equals potential

1/2 m v^2 = m g h

v = sqrt (2gh) = sqrt (2 * 9.8 * .15)   (answer is in  m/s)

the second part is a momentum calculation

[mass of block plus bullet] * [v from first part] equals
[mass of bullet] * [velocity of bullet]

v = [2.05 / .05] * [velocity from first part]
